Most factory built PCs are designed to accommodate  hardware and software upgrades and changes to a degree, but most users find that the addition of a certain component or a program upgrade causes  problems that they never anticipated. A simple memory upgrade will sometimes get you back to where you want to be but hardware and software incompatibility may cause  system  instability where you need an outside evaluation to determine the best course of action.
